Fourth Tawi Bridge gets Traffic signals

The fourth bridge on Tawi River in Jammu city was inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in May 2013 and since then, it has been a great relief to traffic congestion of Talab Tillo, Bakshi Nagar and other areas along Akhnoor Road one side and Gandhi Nagar, Satwari, Jewel Chowk, Dogra Chowk and Canal Road areas on the other. A portion of the bridge had got washed away in September 2014 flash floods but the government repaired the bridge in 2016 after multiple delays.

And now after five years of inauguration, Tawi fourth bridge has now been revamped with the intent to streamline vehicular movement in Jammu especially in Bhagwati Nagar area. A new set of traffic lights have been installed and a roundabout is made to regulate traffic and avoid accidents by ending traffic rush. The newly installed traffic lights will replace the manual management of traffic rush during odd hours thus ensuring safe driving environment for people.

The authorities are trying to counter the problem of ever swelling traffic in the city with technology so that the frequent traffic jams can be stopped but this project would be a success only if the people follow the rules for which strong steps are being taken to deter the violators.
