Divisional level inter-district DYSS Football tourney begins

POONCH: Annual inter-district Divisional level boys (all age group) football tournament got underway at Sports Stadium, here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).

The event was declared open by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav, who was chief guest. The young IAS officer interacted with the boys and encouraged teams from different districts of Jammu Province.

Earlier, organising secretary of the event, district officer (DYSS) Poonch, Narjeet Singh presented a brief note of the competition and welcomed the participants. Also present were Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch, Sundershan Kumar and Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEOs) of different zones of host district.

Earlier, Jammu boys and girls winning their matches in under-17 age group while District Rajouri defeated the opponent in under-19 category. The Results: U-17: Boys: Jammu bt Samba 5-0; Girls: Jammu bt Samba 4-0; Poonch bt Kathua 2-0. U-19: Boys: Jammu bt Samba 4-0. Girls: Samba bt Kathua 2-0. Under-14: Girls: Kathua bt Samba 2-1.

The matches officiated by the technical penal including Rajinder Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Kewal Krishan, R S Toofan, Bachiter Singh, Jatinder Kumar, Pawandeep Singh, Mohinder Bali, Narinder Singh, Iftkhar Bhatti, Rajesh Kumar and Romesh Kumar.

Meanwhile, the participating teams in boys section from district Kathua could not be entertained by the organisers after their incharge failed to produce the eligibilities. It has been reliably learnt that the district contingent incharge has lost the important files containing the eligibilities of teams in all three age groups.

Now, the officials concerned at the district office Kathua have mobilised the parents of the participants to arrange themselves the eligibility documents for onwards submission with the organisers at Poonch.
