Ashok included in SGFI Advisory Committee

JAMMU: Director Sports with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Ashok Kumar has been nominated as Senior Advisor of the Advisory Committee by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), a recognised National Sports federation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Formerly Deputy Director with Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Ashok has been associated with the Federation for almost four decades. The letter reads, "As a result of contribution of eminent sports personalities and sports administrators like Ashok Kumar having served this federation for more than four decades, the SGFI as in a position to produce large number of Asian, Commonwealth, World and Olympics as the foundation of such champions is laid by this organisation."

"On the basis of contribution given by Ashok Kumar to promote Indian sports at National and International level up to the age groups of 19 years and below his vision and experience, the General Body has nominated him as Senior Advisor of the Advisory Committee with immediate effect," the letter added.

Pertinent to mention here that Ashok has been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012-13 by the SGFI for his projection and contribution in taking up the Federation point of view at the international level, including the Inter-Continental conference.
