Grandparents Day celebrated at MV International School

JAMMU: MV International School celebrated Grandparents Day, in which grandparents of kindergarten students participated with zeal and enthusiasm.

The day is celebrated to strengthen the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren.

The program commenced with Lighting of Lamp by Chairman Hira Lal Abrol, school Principal and senior grandparents from the audience. Programme included a song performance by the students of UKG, Skit and ‘Circle Time' demonstration by the students of LKG & UKG, games for grandparents.

Winners of games were: Bishnu Dutt- Grandfather of Akshita (LKG B), Chanchla - Grandmother of Manha (Nursery A), Tilak Raj- Grandfather of Anirudh (Nursery A), Mohan Singh- Grandfather of Sayam (LKG A), Madan Lal- Grandfather of Mayra (LKG A), Soudagar Mal -Grandfather of Garima (Nursery A). Gifts were distributed to the winners. There was a photo session for grandparents along with their grandchildren.

Chairman of the school, Hira Lal Abrol highlighted the importance of family bonding and requested the gathering to avoid using tobacco and alcohol in front of children and grandchildren. He advised everyone to give healthy diet to the children and help them grow in all spheres.

Earlier, K L Dogra, Principal, delivered welcome address and reiterated that the grandparents are the greatest support system of a family and he requested them to give quality time to grandchildren.

A powerpoint presentation was also displayed, highlighting the glimpses of activities conducted in Prep Wing of the school.
