GDC Kathua enters Badminton, Kho-Kho final

JAMMU: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua today qualified for men's Badminton and Kho-Kho events of the ongoing inter-college competitions of University of Jammu (JU), organised by Department of Sports on the campus, here.

In Badminton, Kathua shall take on GDC Udhampur in the title clash tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, GDC Kathua defeated Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) 3-0 while GDC Udhampur outplayed Post Graduate Departments of JU 3-0.

The matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Ravish Vaid, Vikram Jamwal, Gourav Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Sanjeev Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Gourav Jamwal and Ankit Sharma.

Meawhile, in men's Kho-Kho event, GDC Samba and GDC Kathua have made it to the final which shall be played at the same venue on the JU campus, here tomorrow.

In the semifinals, decided today, GDC Samba defeated GDC Rajouri 10-07 while GDC Kathua downed GDC Udhampur 08-07 in a close finish.

Similarly, in women's Kho-Kho competition, the PG Departments shall take on GCW Parade in the final. Earlier, in the semifinals, PG defeated GDC Udhampur 6-5 in a close contest while GCW Parade outplayed Government College for Women (GCW) Kathua 4-2. The matches officiated by the technical penal including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Anil Kumar, Gagan Kumar, Jagdev Singh and Shifali Bhau.
