Veggie oats delight chilla

Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They're a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Having oatmeal as a regular diet and making several varieties of recipes with oats is a good breakfast idea and it keeps us in good health as well.



1 cup oats

1/2 cup suji (semolina)

1 onion finely chopped

1 capsicum (finely chopped)

Coriander (finely chopped)

2 tomatoes (finely chopped)

2 cups of water


- Powder the oats in a blender, and add it into mixing bowl.

- Mix rest of the ingredients in a bowl, whisks it until the batter gets ready.

- Add salt, black pepper, garam masala, chat masala, as per your taste and a pinch of     zeera powder.

- Now take a non stick pan (grease it with oil 1tbsp) and heat it.

- Pour one scoop of batter, spread it gently thin dosa or pancake and drizzle oil around the edges (only if requires).

- When the half of portion is cooked, flip it to cook the other portion as well.

- Heat it for another 2-3 minutes to make sure if it is properly cooked.

- Repeat the same procedure for making the rest.

- Serve it hot with pickle, green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Note: Do not whisk the batter too much.

         If brown spots are visible on chilla it means it is ready.

         Can make 10 chillas.
