Skipper Rajesh guides JU to QFs of VC Cup

JAMMU: Brilliant innings from Skipper Rajesh Salhotra today guided University of Jammu (JU) sail into the quarterfinals of the ongoing Vice Chancellor's Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, hosted by University of Kashmir (KU).

Rajesh, who made 59 runs off just 29 deliveries hitting six sixes and two fours helped the side register a huge 119 runs victory against Nagpur University.

Earlier, batting first, JU set a target of 211 runs. Besides Rajesh, Vishal Sudan and Deepak also batted well contributing 43 (5x4, 1x6) and 45 (off 38 balls, 4x4) runs respectively. Dr Noor added 25 (off 14 balls, 5x4) runs to the total.

In reply, Nagpur University could make 92 runs losing all their wickets. Rajesh, who earlier hit half century, took two wickets. Sumit, Avtar and Balwant also shared two wickets each while Niranjan Singh claimed one.

Later, for his all round performance, Rajesh was declared man of the match.
