Secretary JKSSC visits MA Stadium

JAMMU: Secretary J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Rajnish Kumar today visited Jammu to look into the infrastructure and allied facilities being extended to the trainees of different coaching centres within the MA Stadium, here.

He interacted with young and upcoming boys and girls at Indoor Complex, Boxing Ring, Swimming Pool and Skating. Accompanied by the Joint Secretary, State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Manager Indoor Complex, Satish Gupta, the Secretary interacted with the concerned coaches and the trainees.

Earlier, a deputation of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) headed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kuldeep Magotra and accompanied by H.S Gill (executive vice president) and RC Sharma (treasurer) called on the Secretary and Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma at office chamber, MA Stadium, here.

He apprised the Secretary about ongoing activities of the Association and other issues concerning release of calender of activities for 2018-2019, strengthening of infrastructure facilities in Volleyball courts viz, change room, installation of gate, flood lights, levelling of the existing courts at MA Stadium figured prominently in the meeting.

The deputation also apprised the secretary to expedite the sanction for hosting 45th Junior National Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship for which the estimate has already been submitted for the current financial year by the Association. The secretary gave patient hearing to all points raised and assured every possible help for spreading the canvas of Volleyball game in every nook and corner of the J&K state.

Meanwhile, a deputation of the Trainers, who have been disengaged by the JKSSC after their one-year term expires last month.
