Friends XI lifts Tennis Ball Cricket trophy

POONCH: Friends XI lifted the Tennis Ball (day-night) Cricket Trophy outplaying Rajouri XI by seven runs in the title clash that took place at Government Boys Higher Secondary School grounds, here today.

Earlier, batting first, Friends XI set a target of 79 runs in allotted 10 overs, which, in reply, Rajouri XI could not chase and fell short of seven runs to the opponent total. JP Singh was named man of the match for his 25 runs innings in the final. Chamkor Singh gets best batsman award while Vikas declared as best bowler and man of the series.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav and SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey were chief guest, who jointly awarded the title trophies and individual prizes. District officer (DYSS), Swaran Singh, DFO Poonch and Principal BHSS, Sudershan Sharma were guests of honour.

The tournament organised under the banner of Ehsaas foundation by Parvaiz Malik (chairman) and Gurvinder Singh (secretary).

Prominent among others present were Rajinder Singh (Advocate), Mohan Lal (DySP), Mr. Nawaz (DySP), Surjan Singh, Narjeet Singh (ZPEO), Mohd.Tariq, Nirdosh Kumar (Incharge Stadium), Vijay Sharma, Narinder Singh, Imran Mir, Rajneesh Maini, Mohinder Bali, Matinder pal Singh and Rajinder Singh (PET).

The technical penal for the event comprised Arvinder Singh, Prithpal Singh, Imran, Sajad Kirmani, Gurmeet Singh, Ankush Sharma, Iftikhar Bhatti, Navjot Singh,Manik Bharghav, Sukhpreet Singh, Zaffar Shah and Imran Khan.
