Singh Club Akhnoor bags Champion Trophy

JAMMU: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor clinched Champion Trophy outplaying Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Akhnoor by 39 runs in the final played at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.

Earlier, batting first, Singh Club FCC made 123 runs for seven wickets in 12 overs a side game. Sumit Rajput and Surinder Singh played fine innings of 30 runs each while Vishal Khajuria and Pankaj added 14 runs each to the total. From FCC, Bunty and Amit shared two wickets each.

In reply, Friends Club bowled out for 81 runs in 11 overs to lose the all important game. Ankush Sharma (25), Goutam (22) and Rohit Sharma (19) were main scorers. Sunil was most successful bowler with four wickets while Pankaj, Happy, Munna and Panday shared apiece each form Singh Club.

Sunil named man of the match while man of the series trophy went to Sumit Rajput. The final officiated by Vinod Mangotra and Kaushal Sharma as umpires while Sourav Singh was scorer.

In the valedictory function, Advocate Depesh Singh was the chief guest, who gave away the title trophy and other individual prizes. Others present were Rachhpal Mangotra, Pawan Gupta, Sat Pal Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Balvir Sharma, Vishal Singh Manhas, Vivek Gupta, Sourav Singh, Vishal, Deepak Mangotra and Manav Mehta

This tournament was organised jointly by NIIT and Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the supervision of Sachin Sharma and Sham Singh Langeh (president Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor).
