Maxim wins open Chess tourney

JAMMU: Maxim Singh, who serves with University of Jammu (JU), emerged winner of the open Chess tournament which was organised by the Ace Chess Academy under the banner of Jammu District Chess Association, here today.

Winner of the title, Maxim was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5000. The second place went to Ravi Sharma of Kathua while Imtiaz Ahmad remained third.
Sanyam Gupta and Arvindu remained fourth and fifth respectively. Sardar Ranbir Singh was given the special prize for doing well in veteran category.

Similarly, in girls section, Vridhi and Divyam Gupta were adjudged best among girls and boys respectively in under-12 category.

The prizes were given away by president of All J&K Chess Association, Atul Kumar Gupta, who was accompanied by vice-president Baldev Raj, Raj Kumar and Rakesh Gupta. Owner of Ace Chess Academy, Vijay Choudhary presented vote of thanks.
