VAJK team visits Gurez, promotes volleyball

SRINAGAR: As part of intensification of volleyball activities under its ‘Outreach Programme', the Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kuldip Magotra undertook tour of far-flung areas of Gurez in Kashmir to look into the possibilities of further improvement in the standard of the game of volleyball.

While talking to youths, especially volleyball players, Kuldip Magotra, who is also associate secretary of Volleyball Federation on India (VFI), acquainted them about the potential of Volleyball in J&K.

Those young and veteran spikers of Wanpora and Bagtore of Gurez sector were mobilised to adopt sports, with special emphasis of Volleyball, for their overall development.

Besides others, Executive Member of VAJK, Mohd Tari; general secretary, VK Magotra and international Volleyball referee from Himachal Pradesh, Rameshwar Singh Chauhan comprised the special team.

Meanwhile, as per a handout issued by the VAJK here today, ex-Sarpanch, Abdul Rehman Lone of Wanpora showed keen interest in sports and thanked VAJK office bearers for listening to the sports lovers of a far off place in the state.

Secretary Kulgam District Volleyball Association, Nelfar Habib-ul-Rehman and office secretary of District Volleyball Association Pulwama, Mudasir Ahmed Dar also joined the VAJK team.
