DDC inaugurates Volleyball Referee Clinic at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) inaugurated the four-day Volleyball Referee Clinic under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) at SK Stadium, here today.

The first of its kind clinic, organised by Bandipora District Volleyball Association, is aimed at imparting latest techniques and expertise about officiating to over 60 selected individuals drawn from Department of Physical Education, J&K Police and those senior players.

International referee of the Volleyball Federation of India, Rameshwar Singh Chauhan has been named Course Director by the VAJK.

Keeping in view the potential for the game in Bandipur, the district association was very much eager to hold such a technical course.

Speaking to the gathering, the DDC disclosed that at least 50 play grounds are being developed in the district at a cost of 1.30 crore by the Government. He assured all support to the organisers for successful conduct of the activity.

Among others present were SSP Bandipora CEO VAJK, Kuldip Magotra; Executive member VAJK, Mohd Tariq.
