BHSS, Super King Club advance in day-night cricket

POONCH: Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) and Super King Club emerged winners in the ongoing day-night Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament at BHSS grounds, here.

In the first match, BHSS defeated Laksh Club by a huge margin of 114 runs thereby made it a one-sided contest. Batting first, BHSS scored 164 runs for two wickets in 10 overs. Chamkor entertained the crowd with his 140 runs innings coming off just 42 balls with the help of 15 sixes and 11 fours. In reply, Laksh Club bowled out for just 54 runs in 8.4 overs.

Meanwhile, in other scheduled match, Super King trounced Rider Club by eight wickets. Batting first, Rider scored 99 runs for eight wickets in allotted 10 overs. Charanjeet remained top scorer with 31 runs. Later, Super King changed the target in nine overs, courtesy 32 runs innings from Kaka.

In these matches, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav was chief guest, who witnessed the innings and encouraged young cricketers and appreciated the organisers.

Among others present were Narjeet Singh (ZPEO), Pawan Kumar, Rajinder Singh Toofan and Narinder Singh.

The matches officiated by the technical penal including Prithpal Singh, Arif, Marshal and Sanjay.
