Jammu girl Arushi wins Silver in U-17 girls Asian School Chess

JAMMU: Arushi Kotwal brought laurels to the state winning Silver medal in the Rapid format of the ongoing Asian School Chess Championship in U-17 Girls category held in neighbouring Sri Lanka.

In total, 454 players drawn from 16 countries taking part in this 14th edition of the Asian School Chess Championship-2018 thereby competing in 12 different age categories of boys and girls, reports reaching here said.

Meanwhile, president of All J&K Chess Association, Atul Kumar Gupta on behalf of the Association congratulated Arushi Kotwal for her success in the event. Main event of the tournament was still to complete. It will be followed by the Blitz event.
