1. The governor administration on Wednesday cleared file regarding pay anomaly of employees in the state. The file has been cleared by Governor NN Vohra and his advisor BB Vyas in a meeting today and now it would be placed before SAC in its next meeting.

2. One killed and four injured on Wednesday in a mysterious blast in south Kashmir's Shopian district. An official said that some children were fiddling with an unexploded grenade in Memander village of Shopian which exploded resulting in the death of one and injuring four children.

3. Former Jammu and Kashmir Omar AbdullahOmar Abdullah on Wednesday came out in defence of Shah Faesal, the IAS officer who faces disciplinary action for his posts on social media. The officer has been frankly voicing his views on various social issues in the country which a government servant is not permitted to do as per the rules quoted by the DoPT.

4. One person died on-spot at Bhata-Jodhpur in a road accident in Doda district. An Alto K10 car bearing registration number JK06A-2531 was on its way from Jodhpur to Doda but when it reached near Mohalla Bhata area, the car skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge.

5. Authorities today imposed restrictions under section 144 of CrPC were imposed in five police station areas -- Khanyar, Maharajgunj, Nowhatta, Safakadal and Rainawari -- as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

6. A fresh batch of 4,956 pilgrims today left the base camp of Jammu for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas under tight security arrangements. The 11th batch of pilgrims, including 1,454 women and 97 'sadhus' (seers), left in a convoy of 161 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar.

7. The Supreme Court today refused to pass an interim order against its 2006 verdict which dealt with the application of the 'creamy layer' for reservations to SC and ST categories in government job promotions. The bench said one Constitution bench is already seized of various matters and the issue can only be taken up in the first week of August.
