Singh Club wins by 7 wkts to enter final

JAMMU: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor today qualified for the final of the Akhnoor and other Tehsils tournament for JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, organised by the JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.

In the second semifinal, Singh Club defeated Palanwala Cricket Club by seven wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Palanwala Club bowled out for 100 runs in 19.4 overs of the 20 overs a side game. Deepak remained highest scorer with 26 runs while Deepak and Sachin contributed 16 and 12 runs respectively. From Singh Club, Pankaj and Jadvinder shared three wickets each while Sham Singh took two.

Batting second, Singh Club chased the total making 104 runs for three wickets in just 16 overs. Manik played fine innings of 35 runs, followed by Sumit and Sunil Sharma, who contributed 26 and 14 runs respectively. From Palanwala Club, Arvind, Ritik and Chaitan shared the wickets.

Sadiq Hussain and Rahul Kumar were umpires in today's semifinal match while Saleem-ur-Rehman was scorer.
