Gurpreet helps BCC Bishnah win by 12 runs

JAMMU: Gurpreet Singh's four wickets haul today helped Bandral Cricket Club (BCC) Bishnah register a 12 runs victory against Akhnoor Royals in the ongoing tournament for Akhnoor and other Tehsils for the JKCA Premier Cricket Championship at GGM Science College ground, here.

Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, BCC Bishnah made 118 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 20 overs. Arnab (30), Shami (25) and Anil (22) were the main scorers. From Akhnoor Royal, Rahul clinched three wickets while Vishal and Ritish shared apiece each.

In reply, Akhnoor Royals could not attain the goal and bowled out for 106 runs in 15.3 overs. Rahul and Vishal Singh were main contributors to the total with 28 and 15 runs respectively. Gurpreet secured most of the four wickets while Nikhil, Gitansh, Gurbaksh and Abhi shared one wicket each.

Gurpreet Singh was later named man of the match.

Meanwhile, in other match of the day, Khoor Cricket Club awarded the rain interrupted game considering the better run rate. Batting first, Krishna Cricket Club bowled out for 55 runs in 10 overs of the 20 overs a side game. In reply, Khoor Club were at the crease with 35 for two in five overs when rains disrupted the game. Considering better run rate, Khoor Club was declared winner.

REASI: In district Reasi tournament, RCC defeated SB Cricket Club by a huge margin of 115 runs at Sports Stadium, here. Batting first, RCC made 214 runs for nine wickets in 30 overs. Sarabjeet played brilliant innings of 83 runs. In reply, SB Club lost all their wickets for 99 runs in 24 overs.
For his superb innings, Sarabjeet was declared man of the match.

POONCH: Meanwhile, in a scheduled match at Sports Stadium Poonch for the district tournament, the LOC Poonch defeated Rofi Club by eight wickets. Batting first, Rofi Club bowled out for 91 runs in 19.4 overs of the 25 overs a side game. In reply, LOC Poonch chased the total in just 7.5 overs making 94 runs for two wickets. Iftkar Bhatti of the winning side was declared man of the match.
