J&K finishes 3rd in Wushu Federation Cup

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir finished third in the recently held Vth Wushu Federation Cup held at Lovely Professional University Jalandhar in Punjab. Hosts Punjab emerged the overall champion while overall second place went to Haryana.

As per a handout issued by the J&K Wushu Association, 12 members state team secured two gold, as many silver and three bronze medals. While Karan Sumbria and Riya Chib secured gold, Haqeek Ahmed and Abhishek Singh Jamwal finished second in their respective weight categories. Jabeena Akhter, Appu Jamwal and Mukul bagged bronze medals.

The overall performance of the team was excellent and hopes they will continue their winning spree in the upcoming National Games and National Championships.

Meanwhile, the Association congratulated the Wushu team for securing overall third place in the Federation Cup.
