Babbar of UP lifts 30th Majalta Kesari title

JAMMU: Uttar Pradesh Kesari, Babbar defeated Rustam-e-J&K Benia Min in the main bout to clinch the 30th edition of the Majalta Kesari Dangal which was organized by Majalta Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Government Girls Middle School Majalta in district Udhampur.

Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), RS Pathania was chief guest, who gave away the titles and cash prizes to winners of main bouts. He was accompanied by presiding guest, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Dr AK Gupta of Majalta was guest of honour.
Prominent among those present included ARTO Kuldeep Singh, Tehsildar Rajinder Koul, ZEO ML Dogra, BDO Pritam Kumar Sharma, Zonal Agriculture officer, Darshan Kumar Sharma, Raghubir Singh, Ram Paul Sharma, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and Kuldeep Singh.

Winner of the title bout, Babbar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 61,000 while Benia Min of J&K got Rs 40,000.

In all, 36 bouts decided in this day-long dangal. The second main bout won by wrestler Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police who defeated Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi while Vikas of Delhi beat Amir Khan of Nargada for the third bout. The fourth bout went to Sonu of Delhi, who trounced Salman. In fifth main bout, Muneer Khan of Nagrota outplayed Virender of Panipat.
