Vishal Club enters final of U-16 Cricket

JAMMU: Vishal Cricket Club defeated Blue Star Club by 74 runs to sail into the final of the ongoing under-16 boys' cricket tournament organised by the JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.

Batting first, Vishal made 182 runs for five wickets in allotted 25 overs. Shivansh batted well contributing highest 49 runs, followed by Udhey (40) and Snoop Bhagat (22). Rohan Gill added 19 runs. Harpreet Singh, Keshav and Aryan Kumar shared one wicket each from Blue Star.

Batting second, Blue Star bowled out for 108 runs in 17.3 overs. Mahadev Mahajan (27) and Yash (16) were top scorers. Snoop Bhagat and Priyas claimed two wickets each.

Meanwhile, in the fourth quarterfinal, played yesterday, Patel Cricket Club qualified for the semifinals beating KC Sports Club (KCSC) by 21 runs. Batting first, Patel Club set a target of 171 runs for eight wickets in allotted 25 overs.

Varun remained top scorer with 46 runs while Artharv and Aryan contributed 22 and 18 runs respectively. Prabjot added unbeaten 18 runs. From KCSC, Uthkarsh and Shivam took two wickets each.

In reply, KCSC could not chase the target and bowled out for 149 runs in 21.4 over. Shivam (31), Uthkarsh (30) and Laksheya (19) were the top scorers. From Patel Club, Hanzla emerged as most successful bowler with four for 12 in 4.4 overs while Manjavir claimed three.

Hanzla of Patel Cricket Club was named man of the match. Sadiq Hussain Malik and Rahul Kumar were umpires in today's match.
