Kumaraswamy responds to PM Modi's fitness challenge

KARNATAKA: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fitness challenge. 

Kumaraswamy, tweeting from the official chief minister's account, neither accepted nor rejected the challenge thrown by PM Modi. "I am honoured and thank you [sic] very much for the concern about my health," the Karnataka CM's office tweeted.

"I believe physical fitness is important for all and support the cause. Yoga-treadmill are [sic] part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about development fitness of my state and seek your support for it," Kumaraswamy went on to say, refusing to reveal whether he would be posting his own workout video soon.

Earlier, PM Modi posted a two-minute video showing his daily workout routine. In the video, PM Modi is seen performing a series of yoga poses and practising breathing exercises.

He then nominated, among others, HD Kumaraswamy for the fitness challenge, which was started by former professional shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who heads the ministries of youth and sports and information and broadcasting.
