KCCC wins by 120 runs to sails into QFs

JAMMU: The KC Cricket Club (KCCC) today became sixth team to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.

In the pre-quarterfinal, KCCC trounced Gorkha Cricket Club by a big margin of 120 runs. Earlier, batting first, KCCC set a target of 215 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 30 overs.

Bandeep Singh remained top scorer with 51-ball 779 runs while Raman Thaploo and Khaniya contributed 55 and 24 runs respectively. From Gorkha Club, Saqib took two wickets, followed by Pankaj, Pardeep and Kavit, who shared one wicket each.

Batting second, Gorkha Club conceded the defeat in the 13th over when score on board was 94 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Rahul and Rahil were main scorers with 37 and 17 runs respectively. From KCCC, Vishal claimed three wickets while Ram Dayal took two. Sawan and Nityam took one each.

Bandeep Singh of KCCC was named man of the match. Ashok Singh and Dayal Singh were umpires while Vinod was scorer in today's match.
