4-wkt win for Cantt Club in JKCA Jammu tourney

JAMMU: Cantonment Cricket Club sailed into the next round of ongoing JKCA Premier tournament of district Jammu when they registered a four wickets win against Safron Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.

Batting first, after winning the toss, Safron Club bowled out for 162 runs in 28.5 overs of the 30 overs a side game. Sanay and Venayak played superb innings of 47 and 26 runs respectively. From Cantonment Club, Ashish remained most successful bowler with three for 27 in six overs. Parshotam two for 33 in six overs and Dheeraj secured two for 18 in two overs he bowled.

In reply, Cantonment Club chased the total in 27.5 overs for six wickets. Amar (36 off 32 balls, 5x4) and Rahul (25 off 23 balls) were highest scorers. From Safron Club, Keshav clinched three wickets for 13 runs in three overs.

Later, Ashish of Cantonment Club declared man of the match. Ashok Singh and Ravi Manchanda were umpires while Rahul Kumar was scorer.

SAMBA: Meanwhile, in district Samba meet, underway at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ground, Smailpur, Shaheed Cricket Club defeated Ramgarh Club by 25 runs. Batting first, Shaheed Club lost all their wickets fo 130 runs in 19.4 overs, which, in reply, Ramghar Club could not chase and bundled out for 105 runs in 18.3 overs in 30 overs a side game.

RAJOURI: Nowshera (Lam) Cricket club made it a superb 63 runs win against Haider Cricket Club at District Police Lines ground, here. Earlier, batting first, Nowshera set a big target of 254 runs for nine wickets playing complete 30 overs. In reply, Haider Club bowled out for 190 runs in 27 overs to lose the game.
