SFA launches Ramban district Football unit

JAMMU: State Football Academy (SFA) of the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) has launched yet another district unit at Ramban to train young boys in three age groups of under-13, under-15 and under-18 under the guidance of technical individuals at Government Higher Secondary School Banihal grounds, here today.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Tariq Ahmad Ganie was the chief guest, who along with guest of honour, Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Vinay Kumar interacted with the selected young football enthusiasts.

Important to mention here that the SFA unit Ramban has been pooled in Srinagar Cluster instead of Doda for the Inter Academy Football League 2017-18.

The selection trials for the Ramban unit were conducted a day earlier on Saturday, a handout issued here today informed.

Around 120 young football aspirants from various villages of Ramban besides from other far away areas took part in trials. Finally, 60 players under three age groups 13, 15, and 18 respectively were selected on various parameters.

These selected boys shall train as per the curriculum and philosophy set by SFA under local coach, Farooq Ahmad.

The trials were conducted under the supervision of senior Coach of JKSSC, Javed Ahmad Sofi and U-15 SFA head coach, Muzamil Mahmood.
The whole event was coordinated by president District Football Association (DFA) Ramban, Shoaib Jeelani, DFA secretary, Faizan Farooq and tresurer, Nazil Beigh.
