Kathua rape: J&K Panthers Party holds protest, demands CBI probe

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir national Panthers Party on Tuesday demanded CBI probe in gangrape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua.

The Panthers party alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was committing multifarious acts of treachery in quick succession after its ascendance to power and setting entire Jammu region on fire during its three year rule.

Spearheaded by party chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh, the activists staged a protest demonstration here and torched the effigy of central and state government ministers amid raising anti-BJP slogans.

The protestors also demanded 'Statehood' for Jammu region to get rid of the socio-political turmoil, discrimination and subjugation doled out by the Kashmir centric leadership.

Accusing the unholy BJP-PDP coalition of its failure to order CBI probe in conducting fair and transparent investigation in the Kathua case, Mr Singh said that this was the collective demand of the people which was ignored and disregarded by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with full support of BJP.
