M.A.M College holds inaugural ceremony of UN SDGs

JAMMU: Gandhi Global Family in coordination with the Gandhian Studies Centre of Govt. M.A.M College, Jammu held an inaugural ceremony of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the college.

Agenda 2030 was the main focus of the programme wherein seventeen goals as a part of SDG’s movement have been taken up the Gandhi Global Family in collaboration with UNIC (United Nation Information Centre) New Delhi. Seventeen Goals have been allotted to various colleges to spread the message of sustainable development. G.R Bhagat, Former IAS Officer, Ankush Verma, International Officer, Demonfort University England, Ravinder Singh, Former Director School Education, Dinesh Gupta, Secretary Red Cross Society Jammu, Krishan Singh, Former Director Finance Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Thappa, Dr. Raj Kumar were the members of the Gandhi Global Family who participated in the event.

S.P Verma, Vice President, Gandhi Global Family and recipient of Padamshri educated the students about the need of peace and development in the modern age and how students can contribute in carrying forward these goals. The Principal of the college Dr. Romesh chander motivated the student volunteers to follow the ideals of peace and non violence in letter and spirit so that over all development of the society can be ensured. Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu also addressed the students.

Dr. Banpreet Kour, Convenor of the Gandhian Studies Centre thanked the staff, students and members of the Gandhi Global Family for educating the young learners with the goals for sustainable development. Dr. Shiveta Gandotra, HOD Psychology, Dr. Vishal Sharma, HOD Electronics, Prof. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Indu Sharma, Prof. Eva Sharma and the student volunteers Sanchit Raina, Rakshit, Tania, Neetish, Manya and Raghav coordinated the event.
