NAGROTA: When tradition meets innovation to produce an outcome which benefits the children then it needs it's recognition. Urmimala Das, an educationist and classical dancer of Manipuri and Bharatnatyam who is presently working as Hon. Headmistress of Chinar Primary School (CPS) of Sainik School Nagrota has 15 years of teaching experience and participated in numerous workshops both in India and abroad. Urmimala as a Teacher Trainer also incorporates various elements of traditions to contemporary requirements of classroom teaching. Towards this, an attempt made by her in 2017 at The University of America at Cairo, Egypt brought laurels when she presented her paper on "Using Elements of Indian Dance in Teaching English Language skills".

Similarly, she presented her work on "Benefits of Understanding Emotions through Dance Improves Vocabulary in English Language Learners", at the recently concluded TESOL Convention-2018 at Chicago. TESOL Conventions offer English language teachers and scholars from around the globe to exchange ideas and practices, look at wide range of topics from research, and to latest publications.
