SFA launches academies in Rajouri, Poonch

JAMMU: State Football Academy (SFA) launched district football units (academies) at twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in separate function held at the respective sports stadiums.

At Rajouri, the SFA unit was launched by District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr. Shahid Iqbal in the presence of Principal Government Post Graduate College, Javed Qazi. Advocate Tazeem Dar was among other guests present.

Speaking to the gathering, Dr Shahid Iqbal termed sports as best medium to channelize the energy of youth and assured every possible support and cooperation from the district administration.

The ceremony in Rajouri was supervised by the Head Coach SFA, Satpal Singh and SFA head coach Rajouri, Mohammad Bilal.

Meanwhile, at Poonch the district football unit was launched by DDC Poonch, Mohammad Aijaz while Sub-Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate, Adnan Sayeed was guest of honour. The launch was also witnessed by Incharge Manager DCC Poonch, Nirdosh Sharma and retired ZPEO, Shashi Bhushan.

On this occasion, the DDC appreciated the initiative taken by the J&K State Sports Council in taking the game of football to every corner of the state in the shape of district academies.
