UCC sails into final of Rigour Cup

JAMMU: United Cricket Club (UCC) trounced Shubam Khajuria led ACC to sail into the final of the ongoing Rigour Cup (50 overs) Cricket Tournament, organised by Country Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, here today.

Shubam contributed with both bat and ball contributing 25 runs and taking way four wickets but could not guide his side to victory in the an important game.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, the ACC XI bowled out for a small total of 108 runs in 29 overs. Besides Shubam, Kanhaiya Wadhwan (18), Ashank (12) and Ankush Bandral (17) were only batsmen to touch the double figure mark. From UCC, Gourav Khajuria and Ritik Sharma were most successful bowlers with three wickets each while Akash Chowdhary bagged two and Saksham one.

Chasing a small total of just over two runs per over, UCC too found it difficult to score runs and in the process lost eight wickets before they reached the total in 26 overs.

Sunil (24) and Akash Choudhary (23) were main contributors to the total while Gokul Baru added 15 runs to the total. From ACC Shubam Khajuria claimed four wickets for 23 runs while Ankush Bandral and Sunil Kumar Raman shared two each.

Ritik with his three wickets haul was declared man of the match.
