State Shooting Championship concludes

JAMMU: The 8th State Shooting Championship, organised by J&K Rifle Association (JKRA), concluded today at General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club at Dogra Educational Complex, here today with the holding of valedictory function.

Around 200 shooters took part in different events held during the six-day event in different age groups under the guidance of technical team of JKRA.

Director General of Prisons, Dilbag Singh was chief guest, who gave away medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up shooters. Speaking to the gathering, the DGP Prisons said that the shooters of J&K were doing very well despite lack of facilities and infrastructure. He had words of praise for Shreya Saxena and Kavya Kochhar for their superb performance at the national level.

Former Minister and chairman Dogra Educational Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak presided over the closing ceremony. He encouraged all the participants and medal winners and thanked JKRA for making General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club venue for the state meet. He appreciated Sharat Chander Singh and Rajesh Virdhy for their continuous efforts in promoting the game of shooting in J&K.

Among others present were Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Samar Dev Singh Charak, VS Pathania, Sohan Lal Sharma, AP Mirza, Jaipal Singh, S.S Sodhi, Ashok Kumar, Faizal Qureshi, Paramjeet Singh, T.S Tony, Manu Partap Singh, Vineet Kumar, R.K Bhat, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Upinder Jeet Singh, Sharat Chander Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ravi Singh, Anupam Sambyal and Naman Dua.
