Jammu schools within 500 mt of Sunjwan to remain closed: District Magistrate

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government has closed all schools for a day falling within the radius of the encounter site, where fidayeens attacked the Army camp on Saturday morning.

"All the Schools (government and private) falling within the radius of 500 metres from Military Station, Sunjwan shall remain closed on February 12 as preventive measure," an order issued by the District Magistrate of Jammu said.

The schools, including Govt HSS Sunjwan, Govt M S Dodhi Gujjar Colony, PS Haji Basti, PS Sunjwan, PS Tarutta Talab, PS Bilal Colony, J P World School, KB Public School, Jodhamal School and Happy Hours School, shall remain closed, the order added.

A group of fidayeens on Saturday morning attacked the Sunjuwan Brigade, which triggered encounter, in which five soldiers attained martyrdom, a civilian died, 11 people were injured and three terrorists were neutralised.
