JKSSC SFA launches Budgam unit

SRINAGAR: State Football Academy (SFA) of the J&K State Sports Council today launched its unit at Budgam starting the training sessions at Agha Syed Mehdi Stadium, here.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik was chief guest in the opening event, who alongwith Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Farooq, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, Nuzhat Ara, member JKSSC, BA Shah, executive officer SFA, Majid Dar, Khurshid Ahmad and Showkat Hussain as also Shaan Showkat interacted with young football enthusiasts.

Speaking to the gathering, the chief guest, Mohammad Harun Malik hailed the initiatives of JKSSC and SFA. He also encouraged children by the success stories of iconic players.

Pertinently, the trials in Budgam were conducted in two phases at Dangerpora Chatergam and Main Budgam respectively so as to provide platform and equal opportunity to every player of the district.

Around 600 football aspirants attended the trials, out of which 80 probable's were selected based on merit and talent under 13 years, 15 years and 18 years age groups.
