DYSS contingent leaves for Khelo India Nationals

JAMMU: A contingent of 22 athletes and six officials, under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) today left for participation in the Ist Kehlo India School Nationals to be held at New Delhi.

The contingent flagged off by Director DYSS, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, who wished young boys and girls success in the upcoming event. Physical Education Teacher, Varinder Sharma led the contingent as incharge.

J&K take part in the Khelo India event in five different disciplines of Judo, Gymnastics, Shooting, Swimming and Weightlifting. While in Judo five boys and four girls have been selected, the Gymnastics has four girls and Shooting one girl. Similarly, in swimming one boy and four girls and three in weightlifting have been selected.

Officials: Harpreet Kaur Bhalla (swimming), Vishal Slathia (shooting), Dhanraj Singh (weightlifting), Kamal Singh and Seema Mehra (gymnastics).
