J&K Police, Jammu United win in Football

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Jammu United today clinched the thrillers beating their opponents via tie-breaker thereby booked the berth in the next round of the 2nd Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Football Gold Cup, organised by State Sports Club at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.

In the first match, J&K Police defeated Anantnag Titans 4-2 via tie-breaker after the match ended in a draw in the stipulated time.

The other scheduled match of the day won by Jammu United who beat another prominent side of Vijay Club again through penalties 5-4. Sunil, Farhan, Ashi, Rajesh and Rajeev were the successful penalty shooters from winning side while Vishal, Mohit, Parveen and Rameshwar netted the ball from Vijay Club.

Today's matches officiated by the technical penal including Suresh Gupta, Rakesh Kumar, Hilal Ahmad, Rinku Gill, Moon Stephen, Ramesh, Ricky Kumar and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
