Soham attains top FIDE rank in J&K

JAMMU: Young and promising chess player, Soham Kamotra has become top FIDE rated player from J&K after his brilliant show in the recently held International Grandmaster events held in Bhopal and New Delhi.

Soham's international rating is 2066 which is higher than any other player from Jammu and Kashmir. A trainee of Vivek Bharti, 14-year of Soham has a lot of prospects in the times to come.

Meanwhile, All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) president, Atul Kumar Gupta and vice president, Baldev Raj congratulated Soham and his coach, Vivek for the achievement. Both these top officials of the Association wished this young player a bright future ahead.

Important to mention here that, Soham is winner of second position (in below 2000 rating category) in the National Amateur Chess championship held at New Delhi in November last.
