1. An Army jawan was martyred in unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

2. Minister for Education Syed Altaf Bukhari today hit back at Army chief Gen. Bipin Rawat over his remark that government schools in the state are spreading a "disinformation campaign" which is radicalising the youth, saying the Army's "meddling" in the state's affairs was unacceptable.

3. Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today took strong exception to a PDP MLA's "Kashmiri militants are martyrs" remarks, and said the state's security was under threat due to glorification of separatists.

4. A 12-year-old boy was today critically injured by an unexploded bomb that went off near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

5. The minimum temperature in Leh town plummeted several degrees as the cold wave tightened its grip in Kashmir Valley, where the mercury was recorded below the freezing point at all weather monitoring stations.

6. The Bar Council of India said Saturday it had decided to form a seven-member delegation that will meet Supreme Court judges in the wake of a crisis in top judiciary after the public criticism of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra by four senior judges.

7. A helicopter carrying seven people, including five ONGC employees, crashed off Mumbai's coast on Saturday. Five bodies have been recovered.

8. The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) passed a resolution on Saturday, saying the differences of four seniormost judges with Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra should be considered by the full bench of the apex court.
