DDC Kupwara reviews preparedness for IPPI programme

KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara Khalid Jahangir convened a joint meeting of officers of the different departments associated with Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme in the district.

The DDC who is also the chairman of District Level Task Force Committee, held the meeting to review the preparedness and arrangement put forth by the Health Department for the first-round of IPPI going to be conducted on 28th of January,2018.

Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara Dr.Parled Singh briefed the chair about the action plan and other related matters under which the Health Department has made elaborate arrangements for intensifying the pulse polio immunization in all 10 medical blocks of the district. He informed for the purpose 1,36,262 children up to age group of five years, have been targeted for administering the PPI at 717 polio booths.

It was further revealed that a manpower of 2920 employees, which include 1221 medical,950 ASHAS,675 ICDS workers and 74 NGOs,52 mobile teams, besides 146 supervisory staff are to be engaged for intensifying the programme at all block medical jurisdiction.

The Chairman, District Level Task Force Committee, Kupwara (DDC)impressed upon all stakeholder to ensure that they deliver their duties optimally q and ensure 100 percent coverage of children up to five years age group covered under the immunization programme. He stressed upon the health officers to cover all 108636 houses in the district

The meeting was informed that the district administration has constituted a team of officers to monitor the activities at different destinations, routes, entry-points that have been identified by the DTFC, Kupwara.

The DDC sensitized the officers to mobilize the manpower, field functionaries to run the services to needy persons.
