Commandant Gen HG,CD & SDRF J&K visits South and North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K Dilbag Singh today reviewed the ongoing training and rescue preparedness programmes in South and North Kashmir.

The aim of training is to build the capacity of SDRF personnel to deal with various kinds of disasters and to help the public in need.

During his visit to training programmes held at Kupwara and Baramulla the Commandant was accompanied by SSP Director Homeguard Kashmir Javid Hassan Bhat, Commandant SDRF-1st Bn Srinagar Bashir Ahmed Sofi, and, SO to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K Suneel Raj SSP.

The SDRF team which participated in rescue, casualty evacuation operation at Sadhna Pass was awarded Rs10000 with commendation certificate to boost their morale.

Two such courses were recently conducted by High Altitude Warfare School of Army at Gulmarg wherein 50 SDRF personnel were trained in Mountain Rescue.

The officers and other ranks of SDRF were complimented for good work and were urged to involve themselves in all trainings to enable them to perform their duties more effectively and professionally.
