DLL organises Career Counselling programme at APS, Ratnuchak

JAMMU: With the objective to expose the students to the various career options through academic courses after 12th, the Employment Information Cum Advisory Bureau (EIAB), the counselling unit of Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu organised a Career Counselling programme at Army Public School, Ratnuchak here today.

Dr. Kavita Suri, Director DLL provided guidance in the organisation of this programme. The Special resource persons of the programme were Dr. Parmil Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, University of Jammu, Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, Dr. Harish Dutt, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, University and Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, EIAB, DLL,JU.

The programme started with the lightening of lamp. Sonal Sharma, principal of the school welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts of EIAB, JU which has been organising career counselling for the students of 12th class students regularly for the last five years.

Dr. Rewa Khajuria introduced the guests and in a brief presentation spoke about the importance of career counselling at this level. Dr. Parmil Kumar in his session explained the career options in non-medical stream and Dr. Harish Dutt talked about career options in medical stream. Dr. Jeevan Jyoti apprised the students about career options in commerce after 12th and graduation.

The programme was attended by about 130 students of 11th and 12th class who appreciated the information provided to them by the resource persons from the University of Jammu.
