State Volleyball team leaves for Nationals

JAMMU: The State volleyball boys' team today left for Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K, to take part in the 20th Youth National Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship to be held from January two to January seven.

Earlier, the selected team underwent a 10-day coaching camp at MA Stadium, here. The team is accompanied by Mohinder Kumar Sharma and Reemiz Tariq as manager and coach respectively.

The J&K has been placed in group-D with Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Uttarakhand.

President of the Association, Sidharth Daluja and general secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra also wished the team for achieving the good results in the national championship besides providing sports kits. Others present were HS Gill and RC Sharma.

The Team: Rajeshwar Sharma, Sourav Sharma, Sharat Garoach, Gautam and Sunil Singh (all Kathua district); Sahil Kumar and Rohit Sharma (from Pallanwala), Ankush Kumar (Samba), Rasiq Hamid (Anantnag), Hrithik Charak and Harashvardhan (Jammu) and Mutahir Shabir (Shopian).
