National Painters’ Camp by JKCCA concludes at Mansar

SAMBA : A National Painters' Camp organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu with the financial aid by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages concluded at Tourist Complex, Mansar (Samba).

In the valedictory ceremony Zafar Iqbal Manhas MLC, Vice- President, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the chief guest. Well known senior and young painter artists of the country participated in this camp.

The artists who attended this camp from different states of the country included Prabhinder Lall, Chandigarh, Kulwant Singh Gill and Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar, Dr. Mamta Singh, Dehradun, Ragini Tripathi, Ahmedabad, Nishi Soni, Kota, Dr. A K Dixit from New Delhi, Jang S. Verman, Amrit Kaur, Mehak Sharma and O P Sharma from Jammu. The artists created their paintings mostly in acrylics medium to express their emotive imagery in various ways and techniques.

Earlier, O P Sharma informed that Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Regd. Jammu is the pioneer NGO of J&K State working with missionary zeal for the promotion, propagation and development of art, culture & literature since 1999. JKCCA has so far organized hundreds of art and cultural activities like organizing Art Exhibitions, Art Workshops/ Camps, Seminars, Art Competitions, Musical, Dance and song competitions and programmes, literary seminars, book release functions and so on in and outside the state.

In the recent past JKCCA has organized three International Art Exhibitions at Jammu. It has also organized National level Painters camps and exhibitions during the last few months. JKCCA is organizing an International Art Exhibition during the first week of April, 2018 in Jammu, he informed.

Sharma thanked JK Tourism Department, Jammu has supported JKCCA by providing free lodging facilities at Mansar Tourist complex.

Prominent among others who were present on this occasion included Mssrs. Iqbal Qazmi, senior PDP leader, Dr. Alamdar Adam, Cultural Officer, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sham Sharma, Manager, JK Tourism Department, Jammu, Bimal Kumar, Vipin Sharma, Mohd. Saleem Sheikh and others.
