Indian cricket team sports Flag Badge to commemorate Indian Armed Force week

NEW DELHI: Team India is eyeing their ninth consecutive Test series victory under the swashbuckling Skipper Virat Kohli as they are playing against tourists Sri Lanka in the third and the final Test match of the series. As the Men in Blues define discipline and character on and off the 22 yards, in a token of honour they are sporting the Armed Forces Flag badges on their test kit to reckon the unconditional assistance of the Indian Armed forces.

Virat Kolhi and Co. will be flaunting the honorary badge under the crest of the whites which will be fashioned throughout the test.

Launched by the Defence Minister herself, Nirmala Sitharaman has urged the nation to join in this Armed Forces Week from December 1st to 7th as India will be commemorating the Indian Army by celebrating the Armed Forces Flag day on Thursday, 7th December.

India will wrap up this year's last test before they set sail to South Africa for over a month-long series starting from January 5.

While Virat Kohli has been rested from the shorter formats against the visitors, Rohit Sharma will be leading the Men in Blues in the ODI and T20Is from December 10.
