Rahul's hat-trick scripts 62 runs victory for Media-XI CC

JAMMU: Off-spinner Rahul Khatri's five wickets haul including a hat-trick helped Media-XI Cricket Club beat Khalsa Cricket Club Organiser XI by 62 runs in the inaugural match of 2nd Singh Premier League at Bawe Julle Shah Cricket Ground Talab Tilloo, here.

Rahul had a dream figures of 5-3 coupled with hat-trick made it a one way affair, as KCC Organisers XI led by Skipper Surinder Singh (lovelu) chasing a challenging 125 target to win, were bowled out for 62 in the 10 overs. It proved a house of card like collapse for KCC Organiser's XI, as Tanveer singh13 and Sanamdeep Singh 14 were only players who could make it to double figures. Other than Rahul, Faheem Tak scalped 2 wickets, while Des Raj, Yash and Ranjeet shared wicket apiece.

Earlier, after winning the toss Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu led by Skipper Mir Imran elected to bat first. Openers Faheem Tak 22 (3x4s) and Ranjeet Singh 57 (7x4s, 3x6s) gave a tailor made start to Media-XI CC as from 78/2 after 10 overs they were approaching really big with the bat, but KCC Organiser XI made tremendous comeback with Surrender's (4-11) to restrict Media-XI CC on 124/7 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Meanwhile, special invitee on the occasion Sant Tejwant Singh inaugurated the 2nd edition of the Singh Premier League T-20 Cricket tournament. Inder Pal Singh Sarpanch Camp Gole Gujral was the chief guest on the occasion whereas, CEO, Peaks automobile S. Jarnail Singh was also present on the occasion.

The tournament is being organized by Khalsa Cricket Club. A large number of sports enthusiasts besides players were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest urged for maximum participation of youth in sports activities as it helps in developing their physique and personality. He also hailed the organizing committee for organizing such events and providing better opportunities to the budding players.

Later, Rahul Khatri was presented with the man of the match award for his brilliant bowling display. Captain Media-XI CC, Mir Imran along with the teammates presented a Cricket bat to the man of the Match for his feat.
