Cluster University of Jammu stages famous play 'Twelfth Night'

JAMMU: Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Kumar Viyogi Memorial Trust staged Hindi Adaptation of the famous Shakespearean Play "Twelfth Night" translated, adapted and directed by Arushi Thakur Rana in the auditorium of Govt. P.G. College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu.

On this occasion, Dr. Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Dr. Jitender Khajuria, Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, Dr. Kaushal Smotra, Principal, Govt. P.G. College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Dr. Anita Sudan, staff members of various colleges of Cluster University, Jammu and students of English Honours, English Literature and Integrated English Course and of other streams were present.

Dr. Anju Bhasin while addressing the students said that "Twelfth Night" is beautlfully directed and staged portraying the lovely love triangle, witty dialogue, hilarious moments of laughter and fun to give students a chance to know the various elements of Shakespearean comedy.

Since it is a part of the curriculum and hence an attempt to transfer the knowledge of theatrical skills from page to stage. She also added that this is the first event of Cluster University and series of Shakespearean play will be staged in the near future to know the technical aspects of Shakespearean drama tragedies, comedies and tragi-comedy.
