Stadium XI girls win Tennis Ball cricket title

POONCH: Making it an outright 10-wkt win against Power House Club, Stadium XI today won the women's Tennis Ball cricket event which was part of the ongoing Police Sports Festival, organized by Poonch Police at Sports Stadium, here.

Earlier, batting first, Power House Club made 70 runs for five wickets in allotted eight overs game. Jasmeet remained top scorer with 25 runs while Harmeet took two wickets from Stadium XI.

In reply, Stadium XI, chased the target without losing any wicket that too sparing 5.2 overs of their innings. Urvashi played match winning knock of 47 runs off just 14 deliveries hitting four sixes and five fours. Ishta Sharma contributed unbeaten 15.

For her brilliant batting, Urvashi was named man of the match. In the final, ASP Masroor Mir was chief guest while Sarla Bakshi of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) was special guest.

Prominent among others present were DySP DAR, Mohan Sharma, Sham Lal Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, sunil Kumar and Pawan Sharma.

Meanwhile, Bhanpat Sports Club and Khanetar Club today qualified for the Kabaddi final. In another event of Tug of War, Kalai Club and Khanetar Club reached the final.
