Self-styled god man, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sent to jail by a special CBI court for raping two women in a 2002 case. The court sentenced him to 20 years in prison following which his followers of Dera Sacha Sauda in Punjab, Haryana and other cities, torched train stations, burned down vehicles, media vans after Dera chief Ram Rahim was announced guilty of rape by the special CBI court in Panchkula. Scores of people were killed in the violence. Twitterati used #RamRahimVerdict hash tag to condemn the rapes done by Ram Rahim Singh.

2) #IAmGauri

Senior journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, the editor of ' Gauri Lankesh Patrike' a weekly Kannada tabloid, was shot dead on Tuesday as unidentified assailants opened fire outside her residence in Bangalore. She was killed for her ideas and her strong opinion. The case investigation is still on but the information regarding this case is not adequate enough to find out the conspirators or her killers. Twitterati condemned the killing with hash tag #IAmGauri and extended their condolences to her famility and journalist fraternity.

International Literacy Day was celebrated across the world on 8th September. Twitterati carried hash tag #InternationalLiteracyDay to create awareness about education and the need of digital literacy in the world.

4) #GaaliWaliCongress

While taking a shot Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress' general secretary Digvijay Singh posted an abusive meme on Twitter recently in which a derogatory term was used for the PM. The tweet got instant reactions from PM's followers and Digvijay Singh became the victim of the wrath. Twitter followers abused and condemned his tweet with the hash tag #GaaliWaliCongress

5) #RyanInternationalSchool

A class II student of Ryan International School, Gurugram was found dead by the school supervisor. The seven-year-old Pradhuman Thakur was immediately rushed to Artemis Hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors. The reports stated that the kid was killed by 42-year-old school bus conductor after sexual assault attempt. Such shocking incidents raise questions on the school authorities and the loopholes in their security system which needs to be addressed at the earliest. Twitterati condemned the incident by putting forth their views with hash tag #RyanInternationalSchool
