Voter Awareness programmes held across Rajouri

RAJOURI: District Administration Rajouri today conducted massive awareness programmes under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in all the colleges and higher secondary schools of Nowshera, Darhal Rajouri and Kalakote assembly constituencies.

A large number of Students participated in the awareness programmes and learnt about the importance of taking part in electoral process for strengthening democracy. The Students in the age group of 18-21 years were encouraged to get themselves enrolled in Photo Electoral Rolls.

The programme was held as a part of country-wide month long special drive launched by Election Commission of India from 1st July to enroll left out electors with special thrust on young potential voters in the age group 18-21 years.

The Electoral Registration Officer for Rajouri Assembly Segment, Paramjeet Singh (ACR Rajouri) chaired the awareness programme at Government Degree College Rajouri in which around 250 students participated.

In other assembly constituencies, the awareness camps were coordinated by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsiladrs.
