Volleyball referee clinic concludes

JAMMU: A three-day volleyball referee clinic-cum-refresher course, organized by Volleyball Association of J&K, concluded today at the premises of JK Public School, Kunjwani, near here.

In all, around 50 individuals from volleyball background representing different districts of Jammu Division, mostly Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and students (BPEd, MPEd) of University of Jammu took part in the course.

All these trainees were given updates in both theory and practice classes to update their skills, reflexes and competitive morale as per latest rules and regulations of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI).

International volleyball referee from Himachal Pradesh, Rameshwar Singh Chauhan worked hard in imparting training by exploiting all latest tool of teachings aids including Audio-Visual aids as an instructor of the course.

In the concluding function, SP South Jammu, Sandeep Choudhary was chief guest underlined the importance of such courses for uploading the standard of officiating in the state as well as outside the state. He also presented certificates of participation. Joint Secretary of J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma was guest of honour.

Earlier, president of the Association, Sidharth Daluja welcomed the chief guest and other guests. Welcoming the dignitaries, general secretary, Vijay Magotra apprised the aims and objectives of the course. Among others present were Ramesh Sharma, Mohd. Tariq and Azhar Aziz.

Meanwhile, the Volleyball Association of J&K expressed their gratitude to the management of JK Public School, J&K State Sports Council and Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) for extending cooperation for the course.
