Little Flower School wins U-17 Cricket tourney

AKHNOOR: Little Flower School won the under-17 title in the Summer Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament the final of which played at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here under the banner of Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor.

The promising Little Flower team made it a 38 runs win against Raghuvir Challengers Club (RCC) Akhnoor. Earlier, Little Flower won the toss and decided to bat they made 105 runs in 18 overs a side game for the loss of five wickets.

Stephen Sotra (20 off 21 balls) and Raman Mangotra (19 off 18 balls) were top scorers while Gautam Mangotra contributed 16 runs to the total. From RCC, Kanav, Rajat and Amit shared one wicket each.

In reply, RCC could not face the tactical bowling from Little Flower thereby fail in their attempts to maintain the required run rate. The RCC completed their 18 overs quota for 67 runs losing eight wickets.

Razat (18 off 16 balls) and Kirpal (12) were top scorers. From Little Flower High School, Stephen and Raman shared two wickets each while Pankush, Ranveer Singh and Goutam shared apiece each.

Stephen Sotra was declared awarded with both man of the match and man of the series titles. The final was officiated by Amit Manogtra and Deepak Mangotra as umpires while Vinod Manogtra was scorer.

The prizes were given away to the winners and runners-up teams by president of Singh Cricket Club, Sham Singh Langeh while senior cricketer, Sunil Ray Radha was guest of honour.
